Your account has been copied to our new server: "Harley"

As part of our server relocation, your account has been copied to one of our new servers: "Harley". The next step is for you to review the account, test out the cPanel interface, and let us know if anything needs to be adjusted. The old servers will be closing by December 31, 2007. It is important that you review the new account prior to that date.

We've put up a series of video demos to help you get acquainted with cPanel and the new WebMail programs. Check it out here!

Note: Your domain name has NOT been moved to the new nameservers - once you have verified your site that would be the next step (see below).

How to Get There
Here is the information on how to access your account on the new servers:
Note: for yourusername, use your existing 5DollarHosting.com username - it will be the same on the new server. The symbol in front of the username is the 'tilde' character, found at the upper left of your keyboard.
To browse your new site: http://harley.gnservers.com/~yourusername
To access your new cPanel*: https://harley.gnservers.com:2083

*
In the future, when your domain name is pointed to our new nameservers, you can access your cPanel by going to www.yourdomain.com/cpanel (substitute your own domain name for yourdomain)

Highlights of important changes

Here are a few of the most commonly-requested items concerning the new accounts. If your account has one of these features in use, the chart below has important information about what may have changed:
Recent Updates You May Have Made
The copying of user accounts took some time, and was performed overnight on December 12-13. If you made changes to your web site after that time, the changes will not be reflected in your new account and you'll want to update there as well. From now on, changes should be made to the new site only, as we are getting close to the time when the old servers will be shut down.
Mailing Lists
Mailing lists will need to be re-created in the new environment. However, we have copied over a file for you containing the addresses that were subscribed to your list(s). You will find this file in your 'root' folder, named <listname>-dist. These can be easily imported into the new Mailing List program. Simply open the file with File Manager, or download it and use Notepad, and copy & paste the list into the new program.
MySQL Databases
All MySQL databases have been copied over, however they will not appear in the "MySQL" or "PHPMyAdmin" tools in cPanel. This is due to the new naming structure in cPanel. The databases will function, and you should not need to adjust the connection strings at this time. New databases you create will appear in the MySQL tool. If you need an older DB to be accessible via the cPanel tool, contact support - however this will require the renaming of the database and therefore changes to your code.
WebMail
WebMail is accessible from the same URL you are used to, however you now have your choice of 2 programs. The address book from the old WebMail was not imported as part of the transition, but it can be done manually if you need that information. Also, any mail contained in folders outside of the 'inbox' was not imported. If you need access to older mail in these folders, you will need to either download, print out, or forward these prior to the end of the month.
Email Client Settings
When checking POP mail, the settings have changed for your email software. See this page for full information on the tweaks necessary to set up Outlook and other email client programs.
Parked Domains & Email
Any domains you had that were parked on the old server have been re-created on the new one. However, due to the different way in which cPanel works, email accounts for any parked domains did not carry over. You'll need to create any mailboxes and/or forwarders you wish to use with your parked domains, but you are no longer limited in what you can use for an address - in other words, the parked domain is treated as separate and you can create whatever email addresses you like.
FTP Access
Before your name is re-pointed: use harley.gnservers.com as the FTP hostname
After your name is re-pointed: use ftp.yourdomain.com as the FTP hostname (substitute your own domain name for yourdomain.com in the address example above).

"Everything Looks Good, What Do I Do Now?"
When you have checked out your site and are ready to complete the transition, the nameservers for your domain registration will need to be updated. This is done at the provider whereyou purchased the domain name itself. If you are registered through GNS Domains we can assist you if necessary. The new nameservers are listed below, and there are 4 now as opposed to 2 for greater redundancy.

Nameserver information: (Use all 4 for best results)
NS.GNSERVERS.COM
NS2.GNSERVERS.COM
NS3.GNSERVERS.COM
NS4.GNSERVERS.COM
