Troubleshooting
Assistance Center
Login Problems
Please
keep in mind that it is no longer required that you use the
web-based help desk for obtaining support. It is a great way
to keep track of your prior requests, but by no means is it
mandatory. You can always get your request entered into the
support system by simply emailing to:
support@5dollarhosting.com
-
or -
help@5dollarhosting.com.
Using
the Web-Based Assistance
Center
If
you experience a problem logging in where the username and password
are accepted, but the program "loops" you back to
the main login screen, your browser is not accepting a "cookie"
from our site. In order to use the web-based portion of the
help desk, your browser must be set to accept cookies. Some
recent versions of Internet Explorer install with a default
privacy setting that may prevent the cookie from being set.
Here is how to override this and allow use of the web-based
help desk:
|
Click
Tools-Options.
Select
the "Privacy" tab.
Click
"Edit" in the "Web Sites" section.
Type
"5dollarhosting.com" in the 'Address of web
site' dialog box and click 'Allow'.
Click
OK twice, and try again to log into the Assistance
Center. You should now be able to do so.

Other
Login Problems
Remember
that the Assistance
Center is not tied in to your hosting account, so the username
and password you have for your Control Center/publishing will
not get you into the Assistance
Center. The first time you use the new help desk you'll
need to establish a tracking account which will enable storage
of your older requests and responses, and other features of
the online system. It's a simple matter of choosing a username/password.
SECURITY NOTE: because the Assistance
Center is not an SSL-encrypted (secure) site, we do *not*
recommend that you use the same username and password as your
Control Center.
