Q. How can you offer hosting for $5 a month? Do you cram your servers to capacity?
A. We limit the disk space offered to each plan to a reasonable amount - and we're not greedy. That's the big secret behind our pricing. Believe us, if it weren't profitable, we wouldn't be doing it! Makes you wonder about other hosting companies charging $20 and up for less service ...

Our servers are true workhorses with at least 54GB total storage and are fully capable of hosting 750+ domains comfortably - yet we will never fill them to that level. In fact, our servers are closed to new accounts before they reach 66% domain capacity (not storage capacity!). We are committed to leaving plenty of room for your growth and providing optimum performance for your sites. And keep in mind, we specialize in hosting smaller sites - so there's plenty of room and resources available at all times!

Q. Do you offer discounts for non-profit groups?
A. Even though our prices are very low to begin with, we do offer a signup incentive to non-profit groups. Proof of non-profit status must be presented to get the signup incentive. Contact us for specifics.


Q. Do you offer discounts for volume?
A. For specific discounts for signing up multiple accounts/plans at the same time, contact us.


Q. How does your billing work? Can I pay monthly?
A. We bill all plans on either a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis. Accounts renew automatically until cancelled, and we notify you 30 days in advance of upcoming renewals.

Upgrades can be made right from your Control Center at any time.


Q. Can I pay by check or money order?
A. We prefer payment via credit card, but can accommodate you if you wish to pay by other means. Orders paid by check must wait until bank clearance before the account can be set up. Payments made by money order, certified check, or other guaranteed funds will get the order processed upon receipt. Checks should be mailed to:

Q. What's your cancellation policy? How do I cancel?
A. We hope it never comes up, but we realize that sometimes a client must cancel their hosting service. All accounts receive a 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. That includes the setup fees too!

Accounts canceled after 30 days will be credited based on our Termination policy as set forth in our terms and conditions. A $25 early termination fee will be deducted from any refund given after the 30-day period is up. No refunds are possible more than 90 days from the original transaction.

Clients wishing to terminate their account must fill out a cancellation form located at www.5dollarhosting.com/cancel. The form asks for specific identifying information for security reasons. If you cannot fill out the form for some reason, we can accept a faxed request with a copy of photo identification, such as a driver's license, and a signature. We cannot accept cancellations via telephone because verification of identity is not always possible.


Q. How can I make changes to my site? How often can I make changes?
A. You can use an FTP program, Front Page or other web creation software to upload your content 24 hours a day! You can update whenever you feel like it!


Q. Do you restrict what we can put on our site?
A. While we are firm believers in the First Amendment, we are not accepting adult-oriented sites or sites with hate speech. There are some other restrictions based on legal issues as well. Make sure to review our Terms Of Service for specifics on this topic.


Q. Can I run custom CGI or Perl scripts?
A. Yes! Each domain gets its own "cgi-bin" folder from which you may run any Perl or CGI script you choose. In addition, several pre-defined scripts are available for your use too!


Q. Do I have to put advertisements or "popup windows" on my site?
A. No way. We hate those darn popup windows, and so will your visitors. We do not force you to put anything at all on your site. No ads, no nothing. We're just the landlord! Of course, if you would like to put a "hosted by" icon to help us out, we can certainly supply a handsome logo!


Q. Is there any kind of money-back guarantee?
A. Yes! We offer a 30-day no-questions-asked full money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, we'll refund your hosting fees (including any and all setup charges) at once. Domain registration fees are billed through a 3rd party and are not refundable once purchased.

A. Sure you can! You can upgrade your disk space, add extra bandwidth, mailing lists , change your account information and more - all right from your web-based Control Center!
