Q. Can I host my site made with Front
Page on a Linux server? Don't I need Windows hosting?
A. Yes you can! FrontPage extensions are available for all plans.
You do not require Windows-based hosting to use Front Page.
Q. I use Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP on my
personal computer for designing my web site. Do I need Windows-based
hosting? I use a Mac - can I host my site with you?
A. The operating system of your computer does not come into play
when deciding hosting options. The server is independent of your
machine type. So we can host sites created with any platform!
The majority of web hosting servers today are based on Linux,
even though the majority of personal computers are based on Windows.
Q. Do you offer Windows NT/2000/XP hosting
plans?
A. No we do not. We offer reliable, high-quality Linux-based web
hosting only.
Q. Do you support ASP (Active Server Pages)?
A. No, we do not provide ASP support at this time. Many developers
find PHP (see
below) to be a better alternative for dynamic content generation.
Q.
Do you support PHP4?
A. Yes, we support this web design feature, including its integration
with MySQL database. GD support and Zend optimizer are installed
as well.
Q.
Do you offer MySQL?
A. Yes, one MySQL database is included with all plans. Additional
databases may be purchased if needed.
Q.
Do you support Cold Fusion?
A. At this time we do not. We may be able to bring this feature
to you in the future, so be sure to check back with us!
Q.
Do you support JSP?
A. At this time we do not offer JSP. We may be able to bring this
feature to you in the future, so be sure to check back with us!
Q.
How many mail boxes do I get?
A. You get 25 mail entries which can each be set up as POP mailboxes
and/or forwarders, or aliases - each with autoresponder capability.
Q. Can you have email sent to
multiple aliases or addresses?
A. Yes you can. Your Control Center has an option for this scenario.
Q. Do you support Server Side Includes (SSI)?
A. Yes we do, with the exception of "EXEC CMD" for security
reasons. See our Support Library
page for more information on SSI.
Q. How do I order a parked domain?
How does a parked domain work?
A. You can order a parked domain by simply clicking on the "Order
Parked Domains" button in your control center (look for the
parking meter icon). You just fill out a simple form and your
parked domain is created within 24 hours. Parked domains cost
a one-time fee of $19, with no monthly charges. Domain
registration fees are separate of course.
A parked domain is another domain name that you register, but
it contains no content. Instead, it redirects traffic to another
existing domain. For example, if "site2.com" is a parked domain
pointing at "site1.com", when people type "site2.com" in their
browser they will be directed to the content at "site1.com", yet
the address will remain "site2.com" in their browser.
Email traffic will "flow-through" a parked domain and
follow the Mail Manager rules you set up at the "real"
domain. You can also register parked domains with search engines.
